Highly Recommended – Outstanding Motorcycle Training with Skills Motorcycle Academy I was recommended to Andy by Megan at HD Dublin, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Coming in with no prior motorcycle riding experience (except for that one summer in Greece), I went from complete beginner to confidently handling a powerful 1250cc bike in just three days at Skills Motorcycle Academy. Andy has an incredible way of breaking down the fundamentals, combining classroom learning with practical sessions that make everything click quickly. He skillfully builds on your existing experience as a motorist, helping you understand how different—and vulnerable—motorcycling is compared to driving a car. During the training, I practiced essential techniques like feathering the clutch and mastering various braking methods. Andy’s structured approach, patience, and deep knowledge made the entire learning process smooth and enjoyable. On the third day, I rode in the wind and rain around the outskirts of Dublin before making my way back through the city at 3 PM on a Friday—right in the middle of the busy traffic! To be honest, I enjoyed every minute of it. Andy provided great advice and invaluable tips throughout the ride, ensuring I was building a strong foundation to continue developing my skills. His guidance gave me the confidence to handle real-world conditions, making the experience both exciting and educational. Great experience with Andy and Skills Motorcycle Academy. The course was very well structured, and I got to build up knowledge and confidence over the 3 days. Would highly recommend. Update: 6 months on, got a test date and did a pre test with Andy, again, brilliant guidance on cleaning up my Uturns, slow ride and Lifesaver and lane discipline. And I passed. Great instructor, would highly recommend Skills Motorcycle Academy.

Very experienced, very patient, very clear English, passionate to teach everything he knows, someone you should definitely get to know. The fact that he is also a musician was invaluable for me. I am very happy to know him.

I just completed the IBT course with Andy and I can't recommend him enough. The course is very well laid out, consisting in three days of training, first day theory and the other two days you're being trained 1 on 1 to drive the motorcycle at low speed in the parking lot and on the road at higher speed meeting every day traffic. Andy's number one priority is being safe but nonetheless he made sure you enjoy the process. I'm very happy that I choose this course, if I could give six stars I would.

Andy is a great rider who enjoy his work, you can notice how he makes sure you are learning and keep you safe at the same time. I strongly recommend Skills Motorcycle Academy to anyone looking for an IBT course or an advanced riding course! I've just completed my IBT with Andy and it was a great experience! Even though I had previous riding experience I really benefited from the 3-day format in which the course is structured. It was also great to ride on the 2024 Harley Nightster 975 and the Triumph Speed 400 :) Day 1 (the theory day) is a good reminder of how to ride safely and also a great opportunity to buy some gear if you're missing any. The lesson takes place on a mezzanine of the HD store, which creates a casual and bike-focused atmosphere. There is absolutely zero pressure to buy anything, but since the gear is there, Andy explains different types of safety gear by showing you actual examples at the store, which is great. Day two is mostly compound, with some road riding if you're confident enough. Again, even though I had a few years of prior riding experience, I was rusty around the cones at first, so this was great practice. Day 3 is spent primarily on the road, with a bit of instruction before and in-between the riding. During day 2 and 3 you're 1:1 with the instructor who speaks to you over a one-way radio. This means the lessons are 100% tailored to your level and the difficulty progresses as your skills improve. I can't recommend Any enough!

Great course , highly recommended. Very focussed on practical improvements with personal attention , feedback and encouragement throughout. I really feel a marked improvement in my low speed handling skills and confidence

I really enjoyed the course, its taught me a lot about controlling my bike. It was great comparing the handling characteristics of the different bikes on the day. I highly recommend it to anyone, regardless of your experience level.

This was a very well designed and well run course. All the exercises are laid out so that you gain the necessary skills in a progressive manner. I would highly recommend!
